"I feel happier just for being myself and letting others be themselves"

Carl R. Rogers

Jessica Danielle Terry
Counsellor, MBACP, MNCPS Acc.

I am a registered, person-centred counsellor, providing individual sessions to adults and young people both in-person and online, helping with a wide range of issues, such as low self-esteem, anxiety, low mood and bereavement. I have worked with a number of charitable and not-for-profit organisations, in addition to working with groups and individuals in corporate settings.

My private practice is based in the heart of Wilmslow, Cheshire, where I provide in-person or online sessions.  I also hold regular clinic days at the Alternative Health Clinic in New Mills, Derbyshire.

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that we all, as humans, have the potential for growth and for self-actualisation, given the right environment. My aim as a counsellor is therefore to create that environment, through the therapeutic relationship.

I practice a non-directive approach, allowing you, the client, to lead the session in whatever direction you feel is most crucial.  As Carl Rogers said, “It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried.”
